That part stretched out a bit too long for me, too. In fact I set the book aside for a while because of it--only to return to it and discover that if I'd held out for just a few more chapters I'd have been past it XD Overall I ended up enjoying it a lot!

My biggest issue with the novel ended up being the extras. Rot13 because I can't figure out white text: Gur svefg gjb rkgenf jrer hacyrnfnagyl sngcubovp. V jbhyq ubarfgyl erpbzzraq crbcyr abg rira obgure jvgu gurz--vg fbherq na bgurejvfr tbbq raqvat. Gur guveq rkgen jnf svar gubhtu.

Hm I don't actually think I read the extras (no memory of the story beyond the main story).

I really liked the book overall but yeah, that part in the extras bothered me a lot too. I'd definitely skip the extras on a reread, especially since the ending to the main story ties up things in a very satisfying fashion on its own.
