Time for Discussion Friday again!

Since I just returned from a family trip, a question for you all!

Has any c-novel inspired your travel plans? Where is it and have you been there? If it's not to a RL location, is there somewhere in any c-novels you read that you'd like to visit?

(If it's gonna be a dangerous location, let's pretend that you'll have in-universe powers/ability to handle it/you're immortal and won't die)

If I won't die from it, I'd like to visit all the puzzle worlds in Mist, except for the zombie world. I think it'd be fun! Without the dying.

I'd definitely want to visit ALL the historical settings (NiF, CQL, SVSSS etc) but perhaps in an invisible ghost form who can only observe? Other than that... I mean, obviously it would be interesting but I don't really like crowds and I feel like all the "major" places we can recognize from the dramas will be filled with people. And considering I often like to just stay still and look at people and my surroundings... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This seems like a great opportunity for VR tech. I too would like to visit many places without the crowds!

Maybe it already is a thing but because VR headsets are expensive (are they still expensive? idk) so it's not well known?

I have no clue. But considering I can't do 3D movies for migraine reasons, I'm a bit leery about VR in general...

My travel plans haven't been exactly inspired solely by cnovels per say, but it's like, going there means I will probably remember oh hey this is from xyz novel!

I did go to Hangzhou and Suzhou this summer when traveling~ Remembered MDZS specifically for Suzhou (Gusu and the inspiration for Cloud Recesses) so that was super funnnn! It was a pity that the weather tbh was horribly hot for both so I didn't get to everything I wanted to do since fear of heatstroke, but it is what it is.

Also I loathe to admit it but I haven't gone to Xi'an (the capital of a lot of dynasties) yet??? I definitely need to go and like envision all of the historical stuff taking place around me. I also want to go to Gulangyu (it's like a pedestrian beach island?) in Xiamen because I feel like if 3 modern novels have mentioned it specifically I should probably go hhhhh.

Hopefully you'll be able to make it to Xi'an and Gulangyu soon! I've personally not been to China yet. Unsure if I will make my way there any time in the upcoming years but it'll probably be for food and nature if I do go XD (Jin Yong wuxia pilgrimage or something)

Because I'm currently very wrapped up in To Embers We Return, I would kind of like to visit cyberpunk Tang Dynasty, but only if (1) I'm very rich; (2) I have all the necessary cyber augmentations that will magically disappear when I return; and (3) I'm guaranteed not to be eaten by their local marauding computer virus.

I'd love to visit
- The Abyss in Little Mushroom
- All the settings in Salted Fish Zombie
- The Zerg world before and after Fate turned it upside down with his webnovels from Becoming a God in the Zerg World by Livestreaming BL Novels

There's a whole lot more with titles I can't remember off the top of my head, but basically every dangerous scifi (especially if space is a main setting), post apocalypse world and unlimited flow puzzle dimensions out there 😍 preferrably as a poltergeist kitty. Omg omg omg!!!! Also travelling with the ancient space beings in I Just Want To Retire Quietly.
