I bogged down in the first few chapters too...I don't know if I'll go back to it. But I thought Itinerant Doctor was fine. I'm very surprised that it's a sequel, I had no idea they were related!

That's good to know, I hope I'll enjoy Itinerant Doctor more then.
Yes, one of the main characters in ID is a side character from UBS. His love interest made an appearance too - in a super obvious 'setting up a sequel' way XD

I don't think ID is Priest's best work, but it kept me entertained.
