I caught up on Begging the Heavens in Vain and To Embers We Return and read volume 2 of Thrice Married to a Salted Fish!

While it's been neat to see various plots and intrigues play out in Begging the Heavens in Vain, I'm hoping there's more interactions between Jiang Changbai and Song Juguang going forward.

I really enjoyed Shen Ni and Bian Jin's interactions in the latest chapter of To Ember We Return! (I think this and Dragon Subjugation Incantation are my favorites of the baihe cnovels I'm currently reading).

I like Thrice Married to a Salted Fish, but the novel in general isn't not grabbing me as much as I'd expected (maybe I set my expectations a bit too high?).

I also read a bit more of The White Haired Witch. I'm not sure if it's the fan translation or the novel itself, but I'm finding it a bit of a slog to get through (I just finished chapter 8).

That's a lot of reading!

Hm, for Thrice Married, mostly, I liked the dynamic between the main couple, and the novelty of the pov being initially from the non-transmigrator.

I do find my expectations of novels sometimes affect my reading pleasure though so I get it.

Started two murim manhwa ("Return of the Namgung Clan's Granddaughter" and "The Baengri Clan's Unwanted Granddaughter"). Enjoying both so far and caught up with the available chapters for the manhwas, so I ended up switching to the novel for the Baengri one since it has a complete translation on Tapas.

For my next cnovel, I want to go back and continue reading Dragon Subjugation Incantation; but have been debating also starting The Beauty's Blade or The Villain's White Halo.

Slowly working through priest's Lord Seventh. It's okay, it's fine, but nowhere near my favorite priest novel so far.

I think that it's a tie between Guardian and Mo Du. But I've only read Guardian, TYK, SPL, and Mo Du, and as they're very different, I'm not sure I can really say I'm familiar with priest's style because they're so different. I have a bunch of her books waiting so perhaps I'll have more opinions later, lol. 😄

ETA: ah, I just read my own reply from above. I meant that the book isn't nowhere near feeling like a favorite book, not that it was as good as the book I consider my favorite priest novel. Confusing, much? Anyhoo, I'm curious to see where and when the story will grab me. I'm not doubting it will because priest has the tendency to insert stealth grabs.

I just read I, Your Emperor, Have Been Wronged! and it was very fun! It's a light, comedic transmigration story where instead of a system, the MC Gu Fangzhi gets save slots--so he can essentially rewind time and redo moments that go wrong. He does use this for Important Plot Things but ... much more frequently to avoid embarrassing moments, get more sleep, win games against small children, and tell people what he really thinks before going back and redoing the scene politely.

What he doesn't know is, the young emperor (the ML) is aware of all his do-overs, and is experiencing all those same repeated moments, without any control of them. It's infuriating! But he quickly realizes that Gu Fangzhi isn't doing this to him on purpose and has no idea that anyone else is aware of his ability. It's still frustrating but it also means he gets to see a side of Gu Fangzhi that no one else sees, which is amusing and sometimes strangely endearing? Sometimes the emperor tries to use Gu Fangzhi's do-overs to his own advantage (sometimes this backfires). And yes when they're finally both aware that they're both in on it, they're exactly as much trolls about it as you'd expect.

One thing this book does that I've seen some other novels do too is make the in-novel game system to blame for censorship--in this case triggering a bad ending when anything happens while the emperor is still underage. So with that setup I was pleasantly surprised how explicit things got later. I mean, nothing was described in great physical detail but we do find out exactly how they use the time reversal power in bed!

I also wanted to ask, I've seen people talking about new censorship rules re. transmigration (I think people brought this up related to the new SVSSS extra, and also related to the ending of How Dare You and this novel also had some stuff in the ending that made me wonder about that. Does anyone know where I could find out more?

One final thing since I think a number of people here will appreciate it! One of the extras is written as a modern forum thread discussing the main couple as if they're an actual historical rpf ship.

I finished volume 2 of Legend of Exorcism, and I do feel like it started to get better partway through. I'm also excited that it's reached the point of new-to-me bits not covered in the donghua, so I'm very excited to get to volume 3!

Just got to get cracking on finishing the other two 7seas cnovels in my possession now - The Beauty's Blade and Peerless volume 2.
