At Her Mercy/At the World's Mercy (我为鱼肉): About the Novel

I made a carrd for At Her Mercy/At the World's Mercy, Ning Yuan's court intrigue novel which is coming out in English from Rosmei at some point in time yet to be determined, so I thought I might as well transfer the information here. If you want the all-singing, all-dancing carrd with the pretty pictures, complete with background taken from this famous Song Dynasty painting (because Ning Yuan deserves the best and I'm nothing if not pretentious), it's here.

About the novel

Zhen Wenjun, one of the Yu Empire's most decorated generals, and Wei Tingxu, the most powerful minister at court, appear to be loving wives. In fact, one of them is a spy on a deep cover mission to assassinate the other. First published in 2017, this court intrigue novel by veteran baihe author Ning Yuan is set in a fictional dynasty where women have only recently won the right to rule, to hold high office, and to marry other women. It tells a tale of betrayal, love and reconciliation set against a backdrop of complex political machinations.

The novel was originally serialised on JJWXC. The web version of the novel can be read here. It has also been licensed for print publication in traditional Chinese by Taiwanese publisher morefate. Adaptations

A complete, three-season-long audio drama adaptation of the novel, starring Zhong Ke aka Shisi Jun (钟可 aka 十四君) as Zhen Wenjun and Zhang Zhe (张喆) as Wei Tingxu, is available on Fanjiao, the dedicated baihe audio content platform. (九声, pinyin: jiu sheng) studio.

Thank you! The author deserves to be more known. I am... extremely ambivalent about the quality of this particular translation though.

I'm crossing fingers hoping it will be better than expected. And, I guess this is the only way many people will be able to access this novel... Since baihe is only now getting picked up, I'm inclined to just support it so that if any publisher is looking, they'd know it has a market.
