I'll start: I'm thinking of creating a list of people who are willing/would be happy to beta CN-EN fan translations and pinning it somewhere on this comm. Would you be interested?

Let me know! I am just going to compile usernames, contact information (e.g., email), if you want to provide sample/link to past work (up to you!), and your conditions (anything at all, e.g., will only beta modern setting stuff).

As for my reading...I'm galloping along through Tai Sui! Xi Ping is currently in a pickle and a tree. I'd much rather read this than do the dishes, Priest, quit being so good at your job!

I'm finally putting together the list! How should I describe your level of Chinese literacy?

I was HSK2, almost 3, but then I dropped back to mid-1. I'm getting it back but I wouldn't count myself as literate. But I taught ESL to mostly Chinese students, so I know how Chinese syntax feels in English, if that makes sense. I'm good at flagging rough spots. And my SPAG and vocabulary are good; sometimes people don't have quite the right synonym, and I can suggest a couple for them to pick from.

It's absolutely hilarious to see her going 'why can't the FL and ML in this novel acknowledge their feelings for each other, why must they make things so difficult' not realising that she and the villainess are doing exactly the same thing. Also she has acquired human form (a different form from her IRL human self, which isn't giving her dysmorphia at all) and is now worried that the villainess will like her less because she's now less woolly (physically, that is. As the villainess would say: 'Your brain is as woolly as ever').

She will confess to not being the brightest tool in the box. The villainess always figures out everything before she does, and now the alpaca has given up trying to use her brain. A typical interaction:

Villainess: I've worked out what's going on now. Have you?
Alpaca: ...you know perfectly well I haven't.
Villainess: Well then. Try.
Alpaca: No! Just tell me what you've worked out, please! You know I'm an alpaca of very little brain!

Oh yes! Re: People who are willing to beta CN-EN fantranslations. I would also gladly beta poetry and Classical Chinese translations xD

I'm yjtc on discord and fwoopersongs on tumblr. Most comfortable in historical and xianxia settings, and would prefer those.

On my reread of Zerg novel, and MC is on the run with two cute and fiercely loyal nephews in tow.
