Happy New Year !

I'm 60% through I Can Do It, according to my e-reader. I still love Soft, the feral kitten. It's early days yet, but I have a feeling this might end up as a comfort book.

I started reading Thousand Autumns! Not very far along yet and I don't really have anything specific to say, but I'm enjoying it so far

I'll be curious what you think as you keep going! It's one of my favorites but it tends to provoke many different reactions from the folks I know who've read it.

I have mostly been reading work-related things, sob (the 2025 work madness continues).

I have Ning Yuan's (supposedly) fluffy showbiz romance lined up after I finish reading my current book (a Mills & Boon f/f historical romance — it was nice to see a title like this from a big romance publisher, I just wish the novel itself were a bit better on the historical aspects) and a probably-harrowing Toni Morrison.

Happy new year!

I know right?? Have been so swamped at work that I didn't even have the energy to make myself a nice dinner on either LNY eve or LNY day. As I munched sadly on curry Maggi, I felt like a particularly heavy-handed metaphor from a c-drama.

I finished Stars of Chaos book 5 and. Hm. I liked the main story (even though it was a bit rushed) but the 16(!!) extras were a bit Much.

I'm not sure what to read next. On the one hand, I have Sinophagia waiting as my Feb cover challenge book... on the other hand, 14th year of Chenghua? How am I supposed to choose??

Happy Lunar New Year!

My concentration's kinda shot this week, but I'm about a third of way of through my reread of volume 2 of QJJ. Non-cnovel wise, I reread Of Dragons, Feasts and Murders.

Happy New Year!!!

Not reading, but I'm very intrigued with the art of the upcoming baihe manhua that [personal profile] douqi posted about here (此间行云止). It's just so pretty!

Otherwise, another week of shoujo comics. ^^; The latest one I started is a transmigration one that has constellations and a regressor love interest, which reminded me that I haven't finished ORV (and may never will, as much as I miss the characters and the worldbuilding). XD

Hoping to get back to reading books next month but we'll see lol

The Perks of Being an S-Class Heroine!

In the MC’s original timeline, KR was having a national crisis because of a transmigration epidemic that had people dying left and right. 😂 The MC’s OP perks come from her being the first to avail of the transmigration insurance package when she died. 😂 IDK if I’ll stick it out til the end of the first season but it’s been pretty fun so far!

新年快乐!I've finally started reading Sha Po Lang. I've wanted to since I first started reading danmei, but before I got to it, it got licensed, so now I've been waiting until I have all the volumes in English. I'm about 200 pages into book 1 and so far I'm REALLY enjoying it, though some of the stuff happening now is dragging a little, I'm kinda wondering why there's so much focus on it, but I trust priest.

some of the "Chang Geng settling into Gu Yun's estate" stuff in the middle sections, I wasn't really sure what the point was, especially since I assumed there'd be a pretty big time jump coming up with a "before: Chang Geng is still kinda mediocre" and "after: Chang Geng is a huge badass" and yeah, I started Vol. 2 yesterday and that's pretty much a synopsis of the first chapter. So I didn't think vol. 1 needed quite so much time spent on, like, his practicing with the automaton.

but it's okay. there wasn't actually a lot of it, I just hate slow burn and anything that stands between me and "JUST FUCKING KISS ALREADY" (or, for this book, it's more like "JUST FUCKING BE HONEST WITH EACH OTHER ALREADY") can feel a bit superfluous.
