Do cdramas know that the blood is meant to be on the inside? Signs point to no: I'm inclined to blame the fake blood industry, who would collapse if certain conventions were abolished...

Have you had bad news? Spit blood!

Have you been hit somewhere (and if the drama is very committed to verisimilitude, in the torso area)? Spit blood!

And then there are those people who just... lost so much blood they shouldn't really be standing...

(and no, putting them in the Extra Pale Foundation (tm) doesn't count as medical care...)

I am only super familiar with Xie Lian and Mo Xuanyu, but unless any of the others spent a hundred years in a coffin full of nails, I'm inclined to vote Xie Lian ;)

Xie Lian is doing surprisingly poorly on tumblr - I'm guessing it's because people think he's regenerating the blood as quickly as he's losing it!

I feel like maybe instead of the most blood (most likely to be anemic due to blood spittake), this should be rated by distance. Who wins the Olympics for blood spittake distance?

(Edited to add clarity, and also the point that this is such a Trope that idk if it's possible to judge)

There's definitely a difference in distance - I've noticed sometimes it dribbles more and other times it's coughed out a fair distance. I don't know if there's any correlation between how far and how much blood they lose though!

Ah I meant more like, everyone spews a lot of blood because it's such a common trope so they are probably all equally anemic, so maybe we can do furthest blood spittake instead to see blood spittake skill (I don't mean this seriously and is said more in a humourous way)

As I said on tumblr, I haven't even seen TTEOTM but even *I* know that Tantai Jin has most of his blood on the outside of his body—in every single gifset I've ever seen it's all over his face, it's dripping onto his clothes, it's in his HAIR. Someone get that man an IV pole.
